Produced from late 1994 to early 1996, the Ferrari F512 M marked the pinnacle of the Testarossa lineage—a design evolution by Pininfarina that honored the past while embracing modernity. With only 501 examples built, the F512 M remains one of the rarer expressions of Ferrari’s flat-12 era.

At a glance, the F512 M retained the Testarossa’s signature side strakes but introduced a series of updates that set it apart. The iconic pop-up headlights were replaced with fixed rectangular units housed beneath clear lenses, enhancing aerodynamics and giving the car a more contemporary profile. The front bonnet was reshaped with twin NACA ducts for improved airflow, while the fog lights were replaced with compact, integrated round units. At the rear, the straked tail panel was replaced with a clean fascia featuring round tail lamps—a design cue that aligned with Ferrari’s evolving aesthetic of the mid-1990s.

Inside, the F512 M’s driver-focused cockpit featured thoughtful refinements. A chromed gear shift knob, drilled aluminum pedals, and an ergonomically repositioned cigarette lighter added modern touches. Air conditioning became standard, improving cabin comfort without detracting from the minimalist, performance-oriented design.

At the heart of the F512 M was the 4.9-liter Tipo F113 G flat-12 engine, a final iteration of Ferrari’s storied mid-mounted 12-cylinder powerplant. Key upgrades included lighter titanium connecting rods and a reworked crankshaft, shedding 16 pounds and improving overall responsiveness. With 440 horsepower on tap, the F512 M accelerated from 0 to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds and reached 100 mph in 10.2 seconds, with a top speed of 196 mph. These figures placed it among the fastest road cars of its era, underscoring Ferrari’s dedication to performance.

This particular example, chassis #2146, is finished in Rosso Corsa over a black leather interior. The car underwent a full concours-level restoration, with interior work completed by Zanasi. It remains Classiche Certified, confirming its authenticity and adherence to factory specifications. Since its restoration, the car has traveled only 2,100 kilometers.

Accompanied by its original literature and complete tool kit, this F512 M represents a meticulously maintained and historically significant model.
