Introduced in 2013 to mark Lamborghini's 50th anniversary, the LP 720-4 50th Anniversario stood as a fitting tribute to the Sant'Agata marque's history of engineering ambition and uncompromising design. Debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show, the special edition was built on the platform of the Aventador LP 700-4, but added a range of mechanical, aerodynamic, and cosmetic upgrades that placed it at the top of the model range. Just 200 examples were built worldwide — 100 coupes and 100 roadsters — making it one of the most exclusive and sought-after modern Lamborghinis.

The Aventador itself had marked a turning point for Lamborghini when it arrived in 2011, succeeding the Murciélago with an all-new flagship built around a carbon-fiber monocoque. Dramatic styling, Formula 1-derived construction methods, pushrod suspension, permanent all-wheel drive, and a new naturally aspirated V-12 combined to set a fresh benchmark for the modern supercar. The 50th Anniversario built on that foundation with a series of deliberate refinements, without losing the raw character that defines every Lamborghini.

Alongside a revised engine calibration that pushed output from 691 to 720 horsepower, the 50th Anniversario gained redesigned front and rear fascias, larger air intakes, revised side sills, and a more aggressive rear diffuser — improvements that sharpened aerodynamic performance while giving the car a more purposeful stance. Bespoke badging, distinct interior trim, and special appointments set it apart visually from the standard Aventador, making it one of the most striking and mechanically sophisticated variants of Lamborghini's flagship.

At its core sits Lamborghini's 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V-12 — among the last of its kind as the industry shifted toward turbocharging and hybrid power. Producing 720 hp through Lamborghini's seven-speed automated gearbox and all-wheel drive, the car is capable of 0-60 mph in under three seconds, paired with one of the more distinctive exhaust notes of any modern supercar. In roadster form, open-top driving adds another layer to what remains a distinctly Lamborghini experience.

As one of only 200 built, production split between 100 roadsters and 100 coupes, the LP 720-4 50th Anniversario holds a specific place in Lamborghini's modern lineage — combining a naturally aspirated V-12 with limited-run styling and a genuine performance step up from the standard car.
