This 2000 Lamborghini Diablo GT, production #2398, is an incredibly rare and aggressive variant of the iconic Diablo, standing as #30 of only 80 examples ever built. Delivered new to Auto Kremer in Bonn, Germany, on February 14, 2000, it is finished in a stunning Arancio (orange) paint, a rare and striking color for the model. With just 14,804 kilometers, this Diablo GT is a low-mileage and well-preserved example of Lamborghini’s ultimate track-focused supercar.

The Diablo GT was designed as a race-bred, street-legal machine, heavily inspired by previous limited editions like the SE30 and SE30 Jota. Lamborghini produced just 80 units, mostly for Europe, with only four making their way to the U.S., making this model highly sought after by collectors worldwide.

At the heart of the Diablo GT lies a naturally aspirated 6.0-liter V12 engine, an evolution of the standard 5.7-liter unit, producing an impressive 575 horsepower. This was paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, and in a bid to reduce weight and enhance performance, Lamborghini opted for a rear-wheel-drive setup instead of the typical all-wheel-drive system. This configuration, combined with the car’s lightweight construction, delivers an incredibly visceral driving experience.

The bodywork of the Diablo GT is where the car truly distinguishes itself from other Diablos. Carbon fiber was used extensively throughout the body, including the front air dam, rear diffuser, and a central vent on the hood to aid cooling. A prominent ram air intake on the rear engine bonnet and a large carbon fiber rear wing enhance the car’s aggressive stance and aerodynamic performance. The car rides on specially designed three-piece O.Z. Racing wheels, further adding to its racing pedigree.

Inside, the Diablo GT features a minimalist, race-focused interior, with carbon fiber racing seats, 4-point harnesses, and a smaller, more focused steering wheel. Despite its track-ready nature, the car still offered luxury touches like air conditioning as standard and optional features such as an Alpine LCD screen for navigation and a reversing camera.

This rare Arancio Diablo GT, with its low mileage and exceptional condition, represents the pinnacle of Lamborghini’s engineering prowess in the late 1990s and early 2000s. It’s a car designed for purists, offering a raw and exhilarating driving experience, while also carrying significant collectible value due to its extreme rarity and historical significance.
