This 2009 Ferrari F430 Scuderia Spider 16M is one of just 499 built to commemorate Ferrari’s 16th Formula 1 Constructor’s World Championship in 2008.
The 16M Scuderia Spider incorporated the latest Ferrari technology developed in racing including the 4.3 liter DOHC 32 valve V8 engine using multi-port electronic fuel injection and variable valve timing to produce 512BHP.
The 16M also utilizes the F1 SuperFast2 electron hydraulic gearbox, a first used by a Ferrari road car and the E-Diff and F1-Trac which adjusts to suit various driving conditions located on the steering wheel-mounted “Manettino” (little lever).
The ride may be adjusted as the shock absorbers may be relaxed with the push of a button on the center console to maximize the effects of the 16M’s “Race” settings. The race derived suspension is every bit as sophisticated with traditional upper and lower wishbone, all-independent sport tuned coil-spring suspension with ride control, speed sensing power rack and pinion steering.
Braking is provided by Brembo 4-wheel cross drilled and vented carbon ceramic brakes with extra lightweight 19” alloy wheels shod with Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
The beautiful exterior Pininfarina-designed shape is finished in unique Rosso Fuoco (Red Fire) paint and trimmed with Ferrari’s CEXP carbon fiber package, cloisonné Scuderia fender shields, “Scuderia 16M” fender badges and a special plaque on the rear grille to commemorate Ferrari’s 16th Constructor’s World Championship.
A special silver “limited series” plaque sits in the center of the dash, further emphasis of the exclusivity of the 16M’s interior which features Nero Scuderia Alcantara upholstery fitted to the carbon fiber racing seats, center console and dash, carbon fiber door linings and drilled aluminum pedals and footrests.
Other features that are exclusive to the 16M include twin roll bars with carbon fiber coverings and specific new-generation audio system that may be combined with a customized 16GB Ferrari iPod Touch in the central dock.
With just 2,472 original miles, this rare Ferrari F430 16M Spider comes complete with books, tools and laminated window sticker.
